Smart-home exposure
Looks, from the device list and one UPnP search, for devices speaking local protocols that old firmware leaves unprotected (TP-Link Kasa's legacy port) and for a router that offers UPnP port mapping.
What it finds
- A device answering on the legacy TP-Link Kasa port, which old firmware leaves open to anyone on the network
- A router offering UPnP, which lets apps on the network ask it to open ports to the internet
What it cannot find
- Whether the firmware is old: an open port does not say
- Whether UPnP has already opened a hole to the internet: that cannot be seen from inside the network
- Devices that use the cloud only and say nothing locally
- Anything not on this Wi-Fi
